It would be worse if she looked like Officer Lewis from Robocop because it wouldn't make sense. It makes sense that an acrobatic character would want something form-fitting and flexible again, why Gymnasts wear what they wear. It's hardly on the same level as Ivy from Soul Calibur's getup, or Shao Khan if you want a male example. It's about as "revealing" and "objectified" as a Gymnastics outfit, something which is even worn by children or whatever. I've seen people on Tumblr(!!!) even say so, accompanied by 'fatpower' tags or whatever (despite having narrower waists than 65% of American women).Īnd another thing, there's nothing really wrong with the costume. Also, they can't even use the "fatshaming unrealistic standard" excuse because wide hips are considered fat and undesirable in modern society. These "sexualization" people must have repressed knee-high boots or Hartman's Hips fetishes that got WAY out of hand to feel that way about big-headed Patricia.kind of like the Skullgirls artist, now that I think about it. It's literally a platforming game for children. It would be one thing if it was something like Skullgirls that toed the line between Genndy Tartakovsky's stylization and anime-styled fanservice, but no. Again, look at this game's cute artstyle. To find the character design "objectifying" would mean finding it inherently sexy, and that's just insane. She's not Jessica Rabbit, she's not one of those underaged Vita JRPG heroines, she's not even naked pixels from Atari 2600 pron. For one thing, she's a bobbleheaded cartoon drawing. Believe me, I'm actually quite prudish IRL, so it means a lot when I say this stuff. Honestly, even after looking at that realistic drawing done by Double Dragon Neon's artist, there is nothing wrong with Patricia's (would Officer Wagon be more respectful?) design at all. Now if any female, cartoon, not-real, drawing-on-a-piece-of-paper character is shown wearing anything less than a burqa, it's considered on the same level as Anthony Weiner's scandals. It was some dumb Youtube comment on one of the songs, but the point still stands that this is what our culture has come to. TL DR repressed deviants offended by chibi thighs
